The Ceilidh at the Creamery has always been one of our highlights on our visit so we do hope you have managed to find a venue for this year. Regards Brenda & John Ledger

My grandmother was born and raised in Inverness Town, and after not coming back to Cape Breton for seven years, I just spent a wonderful week full of music and dancing--I only wish I'd found out about the Creamery before I returned to Virginia! When I come back your ceilidhs will be at the top of my list of places to go. Another regret: that I missed seeing Joe Rankin dance this time. I saw him years ago at Glencoe and have never forgotten it. Would you please pass on the message to him that we love his dancing and look forward to seeing him (we hope!) next year. Thanks for this message board--it's a great treat to a homesick Cape Bretoner a generation removed. Suas e!

Trish MacKinnon and volunteer committee: It sure was a barn-burner last night at the Creamery at the waterfront in Port Hwkesbury. As the MC's pointed out, in addition to it being a surprise, it was also a first for Natalie on the Creamery stage and she enjoyed it. It was a great tribute to Buddy MacMaster and his wife, Marie. It was also a first for the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association. Joe Rankin's stepdancing added some heat to the festivities. The other performers also made us proud. As well, it was a tribute to the many volunteers who work tirelessly every week. However, we must not forget that it is the audience composed of local supporters like yourself who faithfully form the core of the audience each week plus the many visitors including bus tours who make the Creamery come alive. I can tell you in all honesty that the performers get much of their enthusiasm from the response of the audience. Some time ago, Natalie made a statement at SAERC that she enjoyed it when some lighting was left on the audience so that she could see them and could gage their reaction and know what they enjoyed and what did not bring out a great response. Maybe it is something the committee could consider for next year. What a great way to wind up the Creamery Cilidhs. A surprise (even to Buddy) >guest fiddler was neice Natalie who is home to play in the Celtic >Colours. >They played a set together as well as solo and at the end they >joined up with about a dozen members of the Cape Breton Fiddlers >Association (including our own Marcellin) to close it down for >another season. > A great warm up for things to come! > Sandy

Hello Artists, This is a hopeful message to reach Joel Chiasson, the first piano player other than myself that I heard that captures the energy and spirit of Irish music on the piano! I first heard Joel on a CD "Hi, How are you today" with Ashley McIssac. It was a piano solo leading perfectly into a climax with the rest of the band. I just want to say that I would gladly pay a fee to acquire this music. I don't know if it was transcribed, as much of mine isn't, but I am hoping! I can't put into words how proud and impressed I was to hear Joel's expression at the piano. Also, any other CD's or music that he has, I would gladly invest in as a grand supplement to my study. More power to you, Joel on future projects, and please do let me know about any other recordings that hold this power. Thank you! Monica

I heard Derrick and Melody Cameron at Normaway on Wednesday, July 16th and was very impressed with their music. While my friends bought their CD, I did not and I would like to purchase it now. (Actually, I'd like to get two because my friends left their copy in the rental car CD player!)We played the CD throughout our trip to Cape Breton Island and now feel bereft without the music! Could you please let them know I'd like two copies of the CD? Thanks for your help. Dr. Nelljean M. We will be in Cape Breton this summer June 27-July 7. Will there be any ceilidh's at The Creamery during that time? We stopped by last summer and enjoyed looking at the quilts. This year we are hoping there will be a ceilidh we can attend. Thank you for any info you can send me. Jan
